Eric Goodheart's practice centers on defending pharmaceutical, life sciences, and medical device companies in a wide range of matters, with particular emphasis on multidistrict product liability litigation.

Eric has significant experience researching and drafting dispositive motions that have helped eliminate or narrow product liability claims. Eric also has substantial experience across all phases of litigation including fact and expert discovery, depositions, multidistrict litigation (MDL) case management, and bellwether case analysis and selection.

In addition to his litigation practice, Eric maintains an active and diverse pro bono practice, where he has assisted judges from Afghanistan with the asylum application process and has helped individuals restore their voting rights and driver's licenses.

  • Defending a major manufacturer of baby food in multidistrict and coordinated state court proceedings against claims that its products cause neurodevelopmental harm
  • Excluded opposing party's expert and secured summary judgment in product liability action on behalf of a pharmaceutical manufacturer
  • Represented a medical device company in litigation involving allegations of toxic tort exposure
  • Served as North Carolina local counsel in complex commercial litigation matters
  • Conducted an internal investigation related to a pharmaceutical company's CEO
  • Represented a rocket propulsion company in an arbitration concerning a stock purchase agreement
