Brian Hamano represents clients in a broad range of U.S. and international tax matters and has expertise in structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, recapitalizations and financing transactions. Brian regularly advises founders and start-ups on the business and tax aspects of company exit strategies and the "qualified small business stock" exemption under Section 1202 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Brian was recognized in The Legal 500 for both US Taxes: Non-Contentious (2024) and International Tax (2024), has been a speaker at numerous tax conferences (including the USC Gould School of Law Tax Institute and for Tax Executives Institute) and has written for Tax Notes.
