About

Dawid Krakowiak leads the environmental protection practice in DLA Piper’s Warsaw office. He advises clients on a wide range of issues related to environmental law, construction law and administrative law, as well as the legal aspects of spatial planning and development. Dawid has extensive knowledge of and experience in Polish and European legal regulations on greenhouse gas emissions, industrial emissions, ground surface contamination, environmental impact assessments, water and sewage management, and waste management and transportation. He advises key firms from the chemical, automotive, energy, manufacturing, and real estate sectors.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a global trade and investment company active in the energy, mechanical engineering, chemical and food sectors on the environmental aspects of the operation of a wind farm in the context of its sale.*
  • Advising a leading Polish company engaged in crude oil logistics on the qualification of installations for the transmission, handling, or storage of liquid fuels with regard to air emissions.*
  • Advising a leading Polish chemical company on the international and domestic transport of products and waste, including maritime transport.*
  • Representing a leading company from the real estate sector in administrative proceedings and court administrative proceedings to obtain a decision on environmental conditions for a warehouse after the initial decision was declared invalid.*
  • Advising a leading Polish energy company on the implementation of BAT conclusions for large combustion plants.*
  • Preparing the legal part of an application for a group of Polish power plants to amend an IPPC permit, taking into consideration a derogation from the emission limit values set in the BAT conclusions for large combustion plants, as well as representing the clients before the administrative authorities and a provincial administrative court.*
  • Advising two companies from the conventional and renewable energy sectors on the environmental and regulatory aspects of the implementation of an off-shore wind farm project.*
  • Advising a leading chemical and industrial power company on the strategic decision-making process related to the operation of a waste treatment installation in order for it to comply with required environmental permits.*
  • Advising a leading real estate company on a decision on environmental conditions for two residential developments, including representing the client before the administrative authorities and a provincial administrative court.*
  • Advising a leading real estate company on ground contamination with regard to a large number of its office building development projects in Poland.*
