EXPERIENCE

  • Advising multiple South African banks, as well as an international financial institution, as lenders, and a major health care operator, as borrower, in respect of a ZAR1.3bn senior debt refinance to form part of a syndicated loan package.
  • Advising a major South African Bank in relation to an English law governed mezzanine facility in the amount of approximately USD70m and the associated security arrangements across multiple jurisdictions (including Delaware and British Virgin Islands).
  • Advised a South African renewable energy company in respect of the approximately ZAR3bn project financing for a solar plant at De Aar, Northern Cape, South Africa.
  • Advising a major South African bank and local Fintech company in relation to English law governed and South African law governed facilities of approximately ZAR150m and the associated security arrangements. as part of a transaction financing structure.
  • Advising a major South African bank in its capacity as preference share subscribers in respect of an approximately ZAR2.3bn preference share subscription agreement and the associated security arrangements.
