Harry has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate law across multiple Australian jurisdictions and a broad range of sectors.

Harry has experience advising on real estate transactions including significant acquisitions and disposals retail and commercial leasing programs as well as greenfield and brownfield developments.

Harry also regularly advises developers and lenders on the development of renewable energy projects, lenders on the bankability aspects of acquisition and construction financing, resource authority holders on securing complex land tenure to support infrastructure critical to operations (ports, pipelines, rail and aerodromes) and on significant capital transaction projects.

EXPERIENCE

  • Acting for landlords, developers and purchasers in respect of all aspects of real estate law including shopping centre acquisitions and disposals, mixed use developments, retail and commercial leasing programs as well as greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Acting for developers and financiers in connection with the development, bankability and funding of renewable energy projects including wind, solar, pumped hydro, hydrogen electrolyser and gravity driven energy projects, including a three stage USD 1.5 bn combined wind, solar and pumped hydro project capable of generating 800Mw.
  • Acting for a resource authority holder on negotiating long term land tenure for infrastructure critical to operations, including ports, aerodromes, rail, pipelines and electricity assets as well as dealings with tenements.
  • Regularly advising major banks, mezzanine lenders and funds on the bankability aspects of acquisition, high rise construction and project financing. Recently this included advising a consortium of lenders on funding the development of a 400Mw multistage wind farm project.
  • Acted for data centre proponents on negotiating land tenure documents for purpose-built data centres and crypto mining centres.
  • Acted for industrial funds on fund establishment and exit as well as the acquisition and disposal of large transport and logistics centres.
  • Acted for Agricultural fund on the disposal of more than USD800 mil of agricultural aggregations in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.
  • Acted on the property aspects of a clients circa AUD 16bn acquisition of Ausgrid from the NSW Government via a long-term Lease. The real estate portfolio consisted of more than 17,000 land holdings under numerous forms of tenure requiring extensive due diligence and negotiation of complex transaction documents the NSW Government retained ownership and acts in partnership with the successful bidder.
