Caroline Yao is an associate in the Vancouver corporate group and has a general business law practice. 

Caroline assists clients on a wide range of matters, ‎including business formation and structuring, corporate governance, purchase and sale transactions, financings, and drafting and reviewing commercial ‎agreements. Caroline works with clients at all stages of a company’s life cycle and in a variety of sectors, including software, entertainment media, cleantech, e-commerce, and consumer goods.

Prior to law school, Caroline worked as a Chartered Professional Accountant at an international accounting firm in its audit and tax groups. Caroline summered and articled with the firm, before joining as an associate in 2021.

Pro Bono

Caroline is a member of the Canadian firm’s Black and Indigenous Business ‎Law Clinic (the “Clinic”), which provides qualifying Black and Indigenous founders with practical and timely corporate and commercial legal advice. In 2022, the Clinic was one of four recipients to receive the Justice Seymour Simon Award recognizing outstanding pro bono work done by a team of lawyers and staff at the firm.
