Spring Reception with Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel

25 May 2023, 6:00 – 8:00 pm BST, In-person, DLA Piper – London

Emily and Jon will give their unshackled opinions on some of the biggest news stories across the political, media and business landscapes, considering issues such as privacy, trust, economic and geopolitical turmoil - and answer your questions.

The conversation will be moderated by Simon Levine, our Global Co-CEO and International Managing Partner.

Emily and Jon are agenda-setting journalists with distinguished careers in broadcasting, most notably at the BBC. Their podcast The News Agents, with Lewis Goodall, is the UK’s most popular current affairs podcast, known for its easy manner and hard-hitting analysis of the day’s breaking stories.

Emily has interviewed numerous world leaders, grilled generations of British politicians on Newsnight and received praise for her exclusive interview with Prince Andrew. As UK political correspondent, Jon reported across several prime ministers and was BBC North America editor during Donald Trump’s presidency, culminating in reporting on the Capitol insurrection in January 2021.
