Ambassador Jeffrey Davidow

Senior Counsel - The Cohen Group

Ambassador Jeffrey Davidow is a Senior Counselor at The Cohen Group. He has extensive experience in Latin America, having served as US Ambassador to Mexico and Venezuela during his 34-year career in the US Foreign Service. During the Clinton administration, he led US policy for the region as Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs. He retired from the US State Department in 2003 with the rank of Career Ambassador, the highest position in the Foreign Service which, by law, can be held by no more than five individuals at one time. As President of the Institute of the Americas, he worked with political and business leaders across the region on policy issues affecting trade and investment. Ambassador Davidow’s robust experience in Mexico has made him an established voice with respect to the US-Mexico bilateral relationship. 

At The Cohen Group, Ambassador Davidow has advised multinational Fortune 500 companies on market entry and expansion efforts in Latin America, and provided regulatory guidance across sectors, including energy, natural resources, technology, and healthcare.
