Lawyers Mission to Israel

On February 18-20, we hosted a mission to Israel for lawyers and law students from the US, UK and France who came to learn more about the Israeli legal ecosystem and volunteer to support war efforts. Participants included law students, Associates, Senior Associates, an in-house General Counsel, and a lawyer who runs his own mediation service. Noam Goodman (Partner, Toronto) joined us for the first day of the mission, as well.

Over the course of three days spread across Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, we met with Israeli law firms Arnon, Tadmor-Levy, Fischer (FBC & Co.), FWMK, Goldfarb Gross Seligman, Gornitzky & Co., Herzog Fox & Neeman, Meitar Law Offices, and Shibolet & Co. We also spent time with foreign law firm Asserson and the in-house legal teams at unicorn tech clients Lightricks, monday.com, Moon Active, and Similarweb. Mission participants gained insight into the various practices and what makes them unique, as well the types of professional opportunities that can be found in Israel.

While we were in Jerusalem on Monday, we had lunch at the gorgeous Nefesh B’Nefesh campus in Cinema City and heard about the growth of aliya and the value of olim in the job market from Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, Co-Founder and Executive Director; Rachel Berger, VP Employment; and Marc Rosenberg, VP Diaspora Partnerships. We also spent time volunteering by packing sandwiches for soldiers at Crave restaurant and setting up a Bar Mitzvah celebration for boys who were evacuated from the north and south of Israel after October 7.

On Sunday evening we enjoyed dinner at trendy Tel Aviv restaurant Malka. On Monday evening, we were treated to a delicious food tour of Shuk Mahane Yehuda in Jerusalem by our colleague Debbie Kandel, who is a popular Israeli food blogger.

The mission concluded with a conversation with legal recruiter Minna Felig, who spoke about the varied legal career paths in Israel. Mission participants were so grateful for the knowledge and insights they gained through the experience and for the networking opportunities we provided. We can’t wait to organize our next mission to Israel!
