The resilience test: An interactive catastrophic disaster simulation
Climate Week NYC 2026Thursday, September 24, 2026
When an environmental catastrophic event strikes, the first few hours can shape the outcome for years. Whether facing extreme weather events, wildfire emergencies, infrastructure failures, or cascading environmental emergencies, organizations must make critical decisions while managing legal, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
DLA Piper hosted an interactive simulation that challenged participants to navigate a realistic, evolving climate scenario. Through guided decision-making and real-time discussion, attendees gained practical insights into effective catastrophic event response, lessons learned from real-world events, emerging enforcement and litigation trends, and best practices for managing risk and strengthening organizational resilience.
This two-hour workshop was designed to foster collaboration, problem-solving, and candid discussion alongside DLA Piper's multidisciplinary Environmental, Climate and Catastrophic Disaster team.
