DLA Piper opens new Melbourne office at 80 Collins Street
DLA Piper's Melbourne office has a new home in the state-of-the-art 80 Collins Street precinct, effective 1 January 2021.
The Dexus building houses DLA Piper across 3,785m2 on Levels 13, 14 and 15 in the South Tower of Melbourne’s newest premium office building.
The office design encourages collaboration, innovation and flexibility, embracing a combination of offices with a variety of open plan workspaces and meeting rooms for teams to come together, the latest in virtual meeting and AV technology, as well as break out zones and quiet spaces.
DLA Piper’s Melbourne Managing Partner Fleur Gibbons said the new office space will provide the best possible facilities for our clients and lawyers to meet and work.
Fleur Gibbons said: “We are delighted to be part of this exciting new precinct at 80 Collins Street, and look forward to welcoming our clients to our new space. DLA Piper strives to be the leading global business law firm, and collaborative, innovative and sustainable workspaces like this help bring our vision to life.”
The 80 Collins Street precinct is focused on minimising waste, increasing energy efficiency and lessening its broader environmental impact to ensure businesses in the building can work in a sustainable workplace. The South Tower has a 6-star Green Star Office v2 rating and 5-star NABERS Energy rating.
The DLA Piper team worked closely with a number of leading consultants on this latest office project, including Spitfire Control (project management), MPA (construction), Hassell (design), Arup (engineering & acoustic services) and AECOM (structural engineer).
Craft Victoria also assisted the firm with commissioning award winning Melbourne-based Gunditjmara and Torres Strait Islander artist Lisa Waup, to design a bespoke feature table and wall relief in the new space.
Earlier this year, DLA Piper opened a new Perth office in the landmark 240 St Georges Terrace high-rise.
