DLA Piper Canada will host the first virtual Harold Fox Moot
DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is proud to once more participate as a platinum sponsor and event co-ordinator of The Harold G. Fox Moot on intellectual property law; for the first time since its inception, the moot will be hosted on a virtual platform.
For the fifth consecutive year, DLA Piper Canada will play a key role in sponsoring and organizing this event, which promotes the study of Canadian intellectual property law and allows law students to interact with jurists from Canada’s highest courts.
From 19-20 February, 12 schools from across Canada will participate in the 2021 Harold G. Fox Moot. This year’s moot will feature judicial panellists from the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario. Professor The Honourable William Gummow AC, former Justice of the High Court of Australia and Professor of Law at Sydney University and the Australian National University, will deliver the introductory Fox lecture.
The 2021 moot is co-chaired by leading IP partners Geoff Mowatt and Sangeetha Punniyamoorthy.
The event is named in honour of leading intellectual property scholar and advocate, Harold G. Fox.
