DLA Piper advises GLP on the lease of Unit 6 of its 134,000 sqm logistics property in Mönchengladbach to Coca-Cola

DLA Piper has advised GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics real estate and distribution parks, on the lease of the approximately 15,000 m2 Unit 6 building at its 134,000 m2 logistics center in Mönchengladbach, Germany, to Coca-Cola European Partners Deutschland GmbH (CCEP). Conveniently located in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, the logistics center is one of the largest infrastructure facilities of its kind in Germany.

The property is located in Regiopark Mönchengladbach, the intermunicipal business park of the city of Mönchengladbach and the municipality of Jüchen, an excellent location where many international logistics and distribution companies such as Zalando, Esprit and DHL/Primark are based.

Coca-Cola European Partners Germany has secured a five-year lease agreement providing rapid access to consumer markets in densely populated western Germany. Its central position in the heart of Europe means that the region's urban centers and logistics hubs can be reached quickly. Düsseldorf International Airport is a 30-minute drive away, Cologne Bonn International Airport can be reached within 50 minutes, and Mönchengladbach Central Station in about 20 minutes. In addition, the nearby Rhine River provides access to inland waterways.

GLP's logistics center in Mönchengladbach includes eight units with a total area of 134,000 m2 , located on the 208,000 m2 site. Special features include the large number of loading gates on both sides of the building, a total of 136 dock levelers, five ground-level hall gates, and a two-story mezzanine area with several freight elevators totaling an area of 38,000 m2.

The DLA Piper team was led by partner Dr Martin Haller and further included senior associate Dr Catharina Voß and associate Dr Lilian Gutkin (all Real Estate, Munich).
