DLA Piper boosts technology practice with partner hire in Australia

Global law firm DLA Piper announces that Anthony Lloyd joined the firm as partner in its Australian Intellectual Property and Technology practice on 19 April 2021. Anthony joins DLA Piper from multinational firm MinterEllison, where he lead their Technology Law Business Unit and Chaired MinterEllison’s Technology Law and Technology Consulting Synergies Board.

 Anthony, who will be based in DLA Piper’s Sydney office, joins with extensive experience advising on major technology, media and communications projects across Asia, the US and Europe. These have been primarily for international corporations acquiring technology and telecommunications systems but also for technology and telecommunications suppliers, providing him with a strong understanding of the commercial drivers for both sides. He is a long-term adviser to SingTel Optus, AIA, Aon, Westpac, Qantas, AMP, Suncorp, Allianz, Manulife, Ausgrid and Cathay Pacific.

Anthony is a recognised leading advisor in the technology and digital sectors, both in Australia and internationally, being only one of two Australian lawyers recently named in the 32 “Best of the Best” technology lawyers globally.
