DLA Piper advises GPS Insight in its acquisition by Accel-KKR
DLA Piper represented GPS Insight, a portfolio company of private equity firm Bregal Sagemount, in its acquisition by Accel-KKR, a leading tech-focused private equity firm with over US$10 billion of assets under management.
Founded in 2005, GPS Insight provides SaaS-based fleet management software and complementary solutions for Class 3-6 fleets in the United States and Canada. As part of the transaction, GPS Insight will merge with InSight Mobile Data and Rhino Fleet Tracking, two existing Accel-KKR portfolio companies focused on fleet management, field services and GPS tracking.
“We were pleased to apply our extensive private equity and technology sector experience to this transaction, which will provide GPS Insight with a broader platform to take advantage of ongoing developments in the fleet management industry and allow our client to better serve its customers,” said Eric Grossman, vice chair of DLA Piper’s Private Equity practice and the partner who led the firm's deal team.
In addition to Grossman (Northern Virginia), the DLA Piper team representing GPS Insight included partners Thomas Hendershot, Cathryn Le Regulski (both of Northern Virginia), Stacy Paz (Silicon Valley) and Julia Kovacs (Washington, DC), of counsel Jay Tannon, and associates Melissa Sampson and Shirley Qin (both of Washington, DC).
