DLA Piper announces winners of Pavel Bakoulev Scholarship Award 2021
DLA Piper is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 Pavel Bakoulev Scholarship Award. This annual scholarship is awarded by DLA Piper’s Moscow office to law students of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia’s leading law school.
The 2021 scholarship was awarded to the following three students:
- First prize: Dmitry Zyuzin (bachelor’s degree student, fourth year)
- Second prize: Karine Movsesyan (bachelor’s degree student, third year)
- Third prize: Daria Klokova (bachelor’s degree student, fourth year)
This year, law students were asked to write an essay on the legal issues of international cooperation in business and ecology. Six participants were shortlisted to present an oral defence in front of a selected jury, comprising representatives of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and DLA Piper. This years’ jury included professor Gayane Davidyan and associate professor Alexander Molotnikov of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, DLA Piper Corporate counsel Delphine Nougayrède and Alexander Klochkov, as well as legal director Maria Shevchenko. The prizes include financial awards and internship opportunities to work at DLA Piper’s Moscow office.
The Pavel Bakoulev Scholarship Award was established in 2012, in memory of DLA Piper partner Pavel Bakoulev. The award is part of DLA Piper’s global initiative “Break Into Law,” focused on removing barriers to employment within the legal profession.
