Marta Frąckowiak appointed to DLA Piper International Board

Marta Frąckowiak, head of the Corporate/M&A law practice in Warsaw, has been elected to the DLA Piper International Board (the body that acts as the supervisory board) as a representative of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. Her term of office begins on 1 June 2021 and will end on 31 December 2022, with the possibility of re-election.

The DLA Piper International Board has strategic oversight of the organisation's development, ensuring that it is continuous, sustainable and stable. It makes decisions taking into account the interests of employees, clients and the community.

Marta Frąckowiak has been with DLA Piper for 14 years and developed the Corporate/M&A law practice in the firm's Warsaw office. She also takes care of the development of DLA Piper's pro bono activities in Warsaw. Her outstanding achievements and experience were recognized in this year's IFLR1000, in which she was awarded the title of “Women Leader” in Poland - one of only eight lawyers in the country to receive this title.

Marta's appointment aligns with the firm's international Diversity and Inclusion policy and with her joining, women will comprise 40% of the seats on the DLA Piper International Board. She will be the only person on the board from the CEE region.

Marta Frąckowiak notes, “The Diversity and Inclusion programme represents one of DLA Piper's core values. Creating a workplace that provides a sense of belonging is simply part of our DNA. A well-balanced DLA Piper International Board broadens our horizons and helps meet the expectations of clients and employees through a clear understanding of their needs. As a mother of two young boys, I fully understand the challenges our colleagues face when trying to combine personal life with professional development. I know how important, but also how challenging, it is to maintain a balance between these spheres. During my tenure on the DLA Piper International Board, I will be particularly committed to the further development of Diversity and Inclusion”.
