DLA Piper advises delivery service Borzo (formerly Dostavista) on USD35m Series C investment round

DLA Piper has advised Borzo (formerly known as Dostavista), a global crowdsourced same-day delivery marketplace, on its USD35 million Series C investment round. The money is being raised from Emirati investment company Mubadala, Swedish investment company VNV Global, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and other investors. The new funds will be used to support a global rebranding campaign as well as foster further product development.

Founded in 2012, Borzo is a global delivery service that enables intracity same-day delivery of parcels of any weight and size. The company has a customer base of 2 million users, with 75% being small and medium-sized businesses. With more than 3 million orders per month, Borzo’s services are available in ten countries including Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Turkey and Vietnam.

DLA Piper advised Borzo and its founders on every stage of the investment deal. The Moscow-based Corporate team was led by partner and global co-chair of Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Leo Batalov, assisted by legal director Andrei Sheetkin and associate Alexandra Braterskaya.
