DLA Piper partner recognised as Rising Star in Private Equity by Law.com International
DLA Piper's Copenhagen-based partner John Svenson has been included in Law.com International’s 2021 Rising Stars in Private Equity list, which highlights the 25 best young private equity lawyers across the UK and Europe.
Around 80 lawyer submissions and recommendations were then whittled down to find the top 25 who represent the best of the industry based on the quality of their client base; the scale, significance and complexity of their deals; their client feedback and general market reputation; the standing of their mentor; and any other examples of career success and innovation.
In his profile, Law.com highlights that John “is a veteran of M&A legal rankings in the Nordics, consistently ranking as one of the most prolific dealmakers in the region.”
This is the third year that DLA Piper has featured in the list. Last year partner Matthieu Lampel (Paris) and senior associate Jesper Lindbom (Stockholm) were included in the list, whilst in 2019 partner John Pryor (London) was also ranked as a Rising Star in private equity.
DLA Piper has one of the world's leading Private Equity practices and is ranked as the top legal advisor in Europe for overall private equity deal volume, according to Mergermarket's 2020 league tables. In Denmark, the firm is ranked first by Mergermarket by deal volume in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021YTD. DLA Piper is also the only law firm to rank amongst the top five most active (by global deal volume) for each of private equity, venture capital and M&A (PitchBook).
