Laura Scampion: Leading change

New NZ Country Managing Partner Laura Scampion has signalled the next wave of evolution for DLA Piper in New Zealand, as the first global firm to operate in the country looks to the future.

In this short video, she has outlined her leadership plans.



Laura took up the role in January, at a time of rapid change in both the local and global legal market as well as in the wider commercial sector.

Laura's vision is to embrace and drive innovation. She is passionate about doing right by our people, the environment and our communities. With the introduction of our Law& solutions, a goal to halve emissions by 2030, workplace wellbeing initiatives and a dedication to pro bono, this mission is well underway.

DLA Piper's new Law& solutions are designed to help clients succeed by providing innovative solutions beyond traditional legal services. Laura was the first new partner to be appointed following the New Zealand firm's integration with DLA Piper in 2015, and she became the first woman to lead DLA Piper in New Zealand on January 1 this year. She has more than 20 years' local and international legal experience advising a range of large organisations and is a well-known legal commentator and presenter with expertise in employment and health and safety law.
