DLA Piper awarded "Forbes Diamond"

International law firm DLA Piper has, for the second time in history, received the prestigious Forbes Diamond Award, which is given to the fastest growing companies. The law firm has been active in Poland for 15 years and advises the world's largest corporations and domestic companies in sectors such as finance, trade, energy and real estate.

DLA Piper's success in Poland has been built by a team of nearly 200 people, and the revenue of the Warsaw office has increased by more than 50% in the last three years, making the firm one of the largest law firms in our country. Last year, the firm won a record number of awards in The Legal 500 EMEA and was recommended in all 21 categories in Poland. It was also one of the finalists in the competition for the best legal advisor to private equity funds.

"It is a great honor for us to be once again among the most dynamically growing companies. It is a credit to the clients who have placed their trust in us and to the team of our law firm, which has worked hard to achieve this success. Our goal for the coming years remains unchanged - we want to play the role of a trusted advisor who perfectly understands the nature of a client's business and the specifics of their industry,” says Krzysztof Kycia, co-managing partner of DLA Piper in Warsaw.

In addition to the high level of service and expertise, clients appreciate the firm for offering customised solutions, transparency and innovation. Last year, the firm strengthened its real estate department and its team of financial law experts. The major changes that are occurring in the business environment, for example in the area of taxes and on the labor market, were an impulse for the development of these legal practices. The revolution that is taking place in the energy industry, especially in renewable energy sources, has contributed to the strengthening of the teams that work for clients in this sector.

The intellectual property and new technologies practice is also an important part of business in Poland. DLA Piper specialises in the legal aspects of implementing such innovations as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), e-health and blockchain-based solutions.

"The application of advanced technologies in an increasing number of areas, the progressive digitalization of the economy, the automation of production processes, and accelerating decarbonization are topics that generate new legal challenges. We keep abreast of these trends and new regulations. We support our clients so that they can run their businesses effectively,” says Jacek Giziński, co-managing partner of DLA Piper in Warsaw.

On the domestic M&A market, DLA Piper remains at the forefront of legal advisory, gaining recognition from clients for its commitment and out-of-the-box approach to transactions. In the latest ranking by Mergermarket, the law firm was ranked second in terms of the number of transactions handled in 2021. DLA Piper lawyers in Poland have worked on 19 projects with a total value exceeding USD867 million.

This year, Forbes magazine awarded the fastest growing Polish companies for the seventh time. DLA Piper’s Warsaw office had received the "Forbes Diamond" in 2020.
