DLA Piper advises EQT Ventures on funding round in foodtech platform voilà

DLA Piper has advised EQT Ventures on its investment in the foodtech company voilà in a USD10 million financing round. voilà is a platform for at-home high-end food experiences. EQT Ventures led the financing round alongside FoodLabs and other business angels.

Founded in May 2021, voilà partners with some of the best restaurants and Michelin-starred chefs in Europe, building a new marketplace in foodtech by focusing on high-end fine dining experiences brought to the customers’ home through nationwide delivery. While voilà provides unique menu options for consumers, chefs and restaurant owners can use the platform to increase sales and boost brand awareness, reaching a new customer group and capitalising on the issue of spare capacity that most restaurants frequently face.

EQT Ventures is the venture capital fund of EQT, a purpose-driven global investment organization. The fund invests globally in fast-growing, innovative and technology-driven companies across all sectors, with a focus on Europe and the US.

The DLA Piper team was led by Frankfurt-based partner Andreas Füchsel (Private Equity/M&A). The core team further comprised senior associate Dominik Wegener (Corporate/M&A, Hamburg) and associate Philipp Meyer (Private Equity/M&A, Frankfurt) and also included partner Verena Grentzenberg (Data Protection), counsel Dr Nico Brunotte (IPT, both Hamburg) and associate Annika Heinz (Employment, Munich).
