Lisa Martineau appointed Chief Operating Officer for Canada

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that Lisa Martineau‎, CPA, CMA, MBA‎, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for Canada.

Lisa joined the firm as Director of Finance for Canada in 2013. In this role, Lisa was responsible for leading the financial management of the firm’s Canadian offices, working closely with leadership on all aspects of accounting, ‎controllership, tax reporting and financial statement preparation, in addition to the ‎business planning process of the firm through the coordination and ‎preparation of annual budgets, ‎related forecasts and ongoing financial analysis.‎‎ Lisa played an important role in supporting the Canadian firm’s financial transition through the 2015 combination with DLA Piper, as well as guiding the firm’s financial wellbeing throughout the pandemic.

‎Lisa is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has a Masters of Business Administration degree. She ‎completed her Bachelor of Commerce and Finance, major in Economics, from the University ‎of Toronto.‎ Her financial management expertise stems from over 25 years of experience in the legal industry at both ‎local and national law firms.‎

Lisa will succeed Dan MacDougall, BBA, CPA, CA, who retires as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer effective February 28, 2022. “Dan has been at the heart of the firm’s most notable transitions, most significantly by playing a pivotal role in the successful combination with one of the world’s leading law firms,” said Robert Seidel, “His contributions have changed the very fabric of the firm and will have a deep impact on the continued success of DLA Piper Canada for years to come.”
