DLA Piper advises ABM on acquisition of Ireland-based Momentum Support

DLA Piper has advised integrated facility services and solutions company ABM on its acquisition of Momentum Support (Momentum), a Dublin-based independent provider of facility services. As part of the transaction, ABM acquired the equity interests of three legal entities which together comprised Momentum.

This acquisition is reflective of ABM’s ELEVATE strategy to grow via strategic acquisitions, which expand the company’s footprint in attractive geographies and end-markets. The addition of Momentum gives ABM access to Momentum’s blue-chip customer base and provides the opportunity to cross sell ABM services to existing ABM clients who also have a footprint in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. By acquiring Momentum, ABM increases its ability to serve clients in faster growing markets like technology and life sciences, many of whom maintain a significant presence in Ireland.

ABM is one of the world’s largest providers of integrated facility services, providing essential and sustainable solutions including janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical & lighting, energy, HVAC & mechanical, landscape & turf, and mission critical. ABM delivers these custom facility solutions to properties across a wide range of industries – from commercial office buildings to schools, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants and distribution centers, and entertainment venues, among others.

Momentum is a leading independent provider of facility services, primarily janitorial, across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Momentum generated annual revenue of approximately EUR64 million in 2021 and has a workforce of 2,300.

The DLA Piper team in Ireland was led by Corporate partner Éanna Mellett with assistance from associate Chris Murnane.
