International Financial Law Review recognizes DLA Piper for advising on award-winning deals in the Americas
DLA Piper has been recognized by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) for being part of the advisory team for the “Deals of the Year” in the “Debt and Equity-linked” and “High Yield” categories. IFLR’s Americas Awards 2022 recognizes the region’s most innovative deals and the lawyers behind them.
The “Deals of the Year” in which DLA Piper was recognized were:
- Debt and Equity-linked: Belize Blue deal
- High Yield: YPF Exchange offer and consent solicitation deal
DLA Piper was part of the team that advised in a groundbreaking debt-for-nature swaps, known as the Belize blue bond, that propelled the country to be the first in the Americas to complete a debt conversion for the funding of ocean conservation. The bond was largely structured from scratch and highly complex upon completion, bringing together different instruments. Innovative through and through, this deal may serve as a template for future blue bonds.
DLA Piper Argentina represented an ad hoc bondholder committee comprising some of the largest holders of the international notes of Argentine leading energy company, YPF S.A. (“YPF”), in YPF’s US$6.2 billion exchange offers and consent solicitation constituting the largest corporate liability management transaction in Argentina to date.
