DLA Piper awarded LawTech Initiative of the Year at Yorkshire Legal Awards 2022

DLA Piper’s Trademark Cost Calculator has been recognised as LawTech initiative of the Year at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2022. The web-based tool draws on data from over 150 jurisdictions to automate the traditionally resource intensive exercise of manually collecting worldwide pricing information to quote for trademark filing, generating notable client efficiencies.

The Calculator is the result of a highly collaborative development process, which drew on expertise from across the global firm, and was delivered by a multi-disciplinary team based in DLA Piper’s Leeds office. The result is an innovative digital tool which utilises cloud-based data to cut the quotation time for filing international trademarks from hours to minutes, replacing traditional formats and processes to deliver accurate, detailed estimates, 1 to the day’s exchange rates. The award recognises this latest example of the firm’s IP Practice working with internal development teams, embracing digital evolution to develop leading client solutions.
