DLA Piper welcomes Jason Vismantas as a partner in the Real Estate Practice

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome Jason Vismantas as a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Practice. He will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.

Vismantas has extensive experience assisting a wide variety of clients with all aspects of real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, preferred equity arrangements, construction, development, leasing, and financing. His work spans virtually all asset classes, including retail, office, multifamily, senior living, student housing, industrial, and hospitality, and his clients include institutional and non-institutional private equity groups, publicly traded and non-publicly traded REITs, financing companies, fund managers, sponsors, and developers across the country.

Vismantas’s notable experience includes representing the developer and sponsor of a US$120 million multifamily and opportunity zone development in Phoenix, which included equity financing from an institutional majority equity provider and construction loan financing from a large banking institution; representing an institutional capital source in the sale of approximately US$2 billion of commercial real estate loans in two separate transactions; and representing a developer of first-class student housing assets in a programmatic, sponsor-equity joint venture to construct over US$1 billion of assets in the US.
