DLA Piper Canada welcomes associate Stirling Wood

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP welcomes Stirling Wood to the firm’s Edmonton office in the Corporate group.‎ Stirling practices corporate and securities law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, annual securities filings, commercial real estate and general corporate/commercial matters. 

Stirling’s experience includes acting for both private and public companies in M&A transactions including share and asset purchases, reverse takeovers, amalgamations, financings, and plans of arrangement. He also advises clients on corporate governance matters as well as securities law compliance. Stirling has extensive experience in real estate matters, including the purchase and sale of retail businesses, and the negotiation of commercial and industrial leases.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Stirling practised at a full service national Canadian law firm and previously worked as legal counsel for Canada’s largest private liquor and cannabis retailer. Stirling received his JD from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta.
