DLA Piper Partner Katie Jahnke Dale named a 2025 Law360 Real Estate Rising Star

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Partner Katie Jahnke Dale has been named a 2025 Law360 Real Estate Rising Star. She was one of just five real estate attorneys nationwide selected by Law360 for its annual list of Rising Stars, highlighting the top attorneys in the country under 40 “whose legal accomplishments belie their age."

In its profile of Jahnke Dale, the publication highlighted her role as a key advisor on the transformation of Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood, as well as her work advising on entitlements for The 1901 Project, a $7 billion redevelopment near the city’s United Center.

The Chair of DLA Piper’s Chicago Real Estate Practice and Co-Managing Partner of the firm’s Chicago and Minneapolis offices, Jahnke Dale told Law360 that mentoring junior lawyers has been a highlight of her leadership roles at the firm.

I get to work with people who are unbelievably creative and entrepreneurial," she said. “These are people who, at their core, are trying to keep the essence of the city, create economic development, bring opportunities and help fix some of the issues facing our city.”

In her practice, Jahnke Dale represents developers, purchasers, sellers and owners of institutional, residential and commercial property in securing development and zoning approvals, negotiating and implementing public-private development and financing arrangements and incentives, performing general and zoning due diligence, and negotiating and closing real estate acquisitions and dispositions. She has played a leading role in obtaining zoning and public financing approvals in several of Chicago's largest developments in recent years.
