DLA Piper appoints Real Estate specialist to its London Corporate practice

DLA Piper is further strengthening its Corporate practice in London with the appointment of Anthea Bamford as a partner in its London office. She joins the firm on 29 October.

Anthea was previously at Canary Wharf Group (CWG) as Director and Corporate Counsel where she played a key role in advising on CWG’s strategic capital and operating partnerships and development management arrangements, including in their joint venture with AXA-backed Kadans Science Partner for the development of Europe’s tallest purpose-built vertical life sciences campus. Prior to that she was a partner at Weil Gotshal and BCLP and has 25 years' experience of working in the Real Estate sector.

Her practice focusses on real estate M&A, joint ventures and other equity-sharing arrangements and associated management agreements, both for operational real estate assets/portfolios and complex development projects.

Private Equity Real Estate has been an area of focus for DLA Piper for some time now and the firm has achieved significant success over recent years in building experience and a high calibre client base in the sector. Anthea will add bench strength to the team in its delivery of high value real estate investment deals for clients.

Jon Kenworthy, International Head of Corporate at DLA Piper, commented: “Anthea brings with her a valuable, client-centric mindset coupled with many years in private practice. Over that time, she has built a strong track record of delivering complex corporate real estate transactions and in providing advice at a very high level. She will be a valuable addition to the team.”
