DLA Piper welcomes Meaghan Colligan Hembree, enhancing the firm’s environmental capabilities
DLA Piper announces the addition of Meaghan Colligan Hembree as Partner and environmental lead for the firm’s Environmental and Natural Disasters Task Force. Hembree, based in Washington, DC, brings a proven track record of steering clients through the full lifecycle of environmental matters – from transactions and compliance to enforcement and litigation.
Known for her ability to mobilize quickly in high-stakes situations, Hembree leads internal investigations and government inquiries, coordinates emergency response and remediation strategies, and defends clients in complex, multijurisdictional disputes. She has worked with a range of clients in sectors including energy, fire services, transportation, chemicals, consumer goods, and manufacturing.
Beyond crisis management, Hembree helps clients manage day-to-day risk and prepare for the future. She provides counsel on product stewardship, chemical risk management, legislative drafting, audit disclosures, and contract negotiation. Hembree also advises on innovative technologies and sustainable business practices. Her work includes insurance, supply chain, and sustainability risk management, where she guides global brands on strategies to mitigate reputational risk and respond to emerging environmental and social challenges.
“Meaghan stands out for her ability to deliver clear, workable solutions to complex environmental issues,” said Gwendolyn Keyes, Co-Chair of DLA Piper’s Environmental Regulatory and Governance practice. “She helps clients respond quickly and effectively to regulatory investigations, environmental incidents, and evolving compliance requirements, ensuring companies can address both immediate challenges and long-term strategic opportunities.”
