He is a highly regarded first chair trial and appellate lawyer who has represented clients in complex matters in federal and state courts nationwide, as well as in many arbitrations. Lately his practice has focused on antitrust, healthcare, telecommunications business-to-business and RICO litigation. He regularly counsels clients in a wide range of antitrust and unfair competition matters. At his prior firm he chaired the firm's antitrust and its health care practices.

He also has extensive experience representing clients in complex telecommunications litigation at the highest level, and has led dozens of cases for local exchange and long distance carriers in involving myriad local interconnection and inter-carrier compensation issues, as well as antitrust, RICO, intellectual property, consumer class action, and business tort commercial litigation involving telecommunications issues.  He has consistently been named a Leading Lawyer in Communications Law and has been recognized by Chambers USA for telecom work.

John has served on the board of governors of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association and the board of directors of the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He has taught antitrust law seminars at various forums. He also has an active pro bono practice.
