Prasad Taksal practices primarily in the areas of corporate law, corporate finance and securities, aviation and mergers and acquisitions. Prasad advises clients engaged in a diverse range of industries including energy, air transportation, manufacturing and education.

Prasad has advised clients on a range of corporate and commercial law matters and transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and international business ventures, and has acted for clients in relation to the sale and purchase of oil and gas assets. Prasad has significant experience in advising secondary and post-secondary educational institutions on a range of matters including commercial transactions, regulatory compliance and privacy matters.

Prasad is a member of the firm’s aviation law practice group and advises clients in relation to aircraft sale and purchase transactions, engine lease and sale transactions, certification and regulatory matters before Transport Canada, and has represented clients in regulatory and dispute proceedings before the Canadian Transportation Agency.

Prasad also has extensive experience in advising clients in relation to investing and doing business in India. Before joining the Calgary office, Prasad practised as a lawyer for many years in India, primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and corporate and commercial law. In India, Prasad advised clients engaged in various industries including aviation, manufacturing, mining, information technology, research and development, banking and finance and pharmaceuticals, on a wide range of transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions, private equity investments and establishment of joint ventures and greenfield projects. He has advised clients extensively on Indian foreign investment policies and regulations. He has also advised state and municipal governments in India on information technology initiatives and procurements.
