About

Faisal is a dual-qualified attorney, licensed in the United States (State of Minnesota) and the Sultanate of Oman. He focuses on cross-border commercial disputes and investigations.

Faisal regularly acts for claimants and respondents in arbitrations spanning various sectors, including disputes arising from complex business transactions, information technology, logistics, infrastructure, events, and hospitality projects. He has appeared as an advocate before GCC and foreign-seated arbitral panels, including arbitrations conducted pursuant to the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), and other leading arbitral institutions. He has also assisted clients with disputes before the Oman and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts.

In addition to handling complex business disputes, Faisal’s practice involves advising clients and conducting investigations on matters related to business integrity, compliance, and other regulatory issues.

Faisal is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a sitting arbitrator with the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). He has also been recently appointed as a Delegate to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR for the 2024-2027 term.

  • Acting for an Omani tourism entity in the defence of a multimillion-dollar claim arising from COVID-19 related impacts and termination issues.*
  • Acting for a large French catering and hospitality company in a UAE-seated arbitration before the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC) in the defence of an AED 400m+ claim concerning the termination of a services contract.*
  • Acting for a South Korean contractor in a dispute with an Omani counterpart in a SIAC arbitration involving the termination of a joint venture agreement.*
  • Acting for an Austrian company in a successful claim in an ICC arbitration involving a complex shareholders’ dispute arising from a quarrying project in Oman.*
  • Acting for one of Oman's largest ports and freezone authorities in a debt recovery arbitration claim before the ICC.*
  • Acting for a UAE property developer in various debt recovery claims before the DIFC Courts involving the termination of commercial leases.*
  • Acting for several Omani banks in financial services litigation in Oman and other GCC jurisdictions.*
  • Advising a large multi-purpose maritime zone in the UAE on the implications of termination concerning various commercial leases.*
  • Advising a large British multinational research-based pharmaceutical company in relation to an investigation into allegations of bribery in Saudi Arabia.*
  • Advising a large American multinational beauty company in relation to an internal investigation in Saudi Arabia concerning allegations of financial irregularities.*
