Sam Bogetti’s practice focusses on competition law and commercial disputes, including class actions.
Sam handles all aspects of competition & foreign investment law, including litigation, merger control, Competition Bureau inquiries and investigations, and private proceedings brought under the Competition Act. He also regularly counsels clients on misleading advertising/marketing laws, potentially anti-competitive business practices, and foreign ownership and control restrictions under the Investment Canada Act, providing effective and practical compliance solutions.
In his litigation practice, Sam acts as class action defence counsel in cartel litigation, secondary market liability claims, consumer protection and false advertising claims, and other Canadian class proceedings. He has experience across a wide range of commercial disputes, including competition, securities regulation, shareholder and oppression proceedings, and commercial fraud; and has achieved effective results for, among others, retailers, pharmaceutical companies, capital markets participants, directors & officers, media companies, and overseas manufacturers.
Sam also assists clients with investigations and regulatory enforcement matters, including proceedings or inquiries brought by securities commissions and other public regulators.
