James Carter assists clients to resolve complex commercial disputes. His practice is almost exclusively focused on international arbitration where he utilises his background as a barrister to deliver compelling written and oral advocacy to secure impressive outcomes. He has experience of conducting arbitrations under the major institutional rules (LCIA, ICC, ICSID etc) and which are seated in the major (and sometimes less major) seats of arbitration. His clients are often in the energy and natural resources sector – he is also the UK Head of the firm's cross practice group Energy and Natural Resources initiative – but also has extensive experience of disputes arising across a range of sectors, notably telecoms, technology, financial services and infrastructure.
