Nan Lan is a patent litigator with a technical background in chemical and biomolecular engineering. In her practice, Nan leverages her technical expertise to distill complex subject matter into approachable information. She has successfully defended a wide variety of clients in patent litigation as a result. 

Nan has experience handling many different stages of patent litigation, from pre-suit due diligence to pre-trial disclosures. She has also deposed and defended witnesses in deposition, as well as argued and won case dispositive motions. Thanks to her technical background, Nan has served clients in a wide range of sectors including healthcare, petroleum, battery technology, renewable energy, hospitality, retail, consumer electronics, and consumer goods.

Nan joined DLA Piper from an international intellectual property boutique.

Prior to law school, Nan worked in management consulting with a focus on corporate finance and process improvement. She has also worked in business data analytics, franchising, trademark registration, and trademark litigation. 

Nan studied chemical engineering with a concentration in biomolecular engineering, and she has extensive research experience in ionic lipids and their interactions with lipid bilayers.
