EXPERIENCE

  • Advising an international retailer on all legal aspects of a global integration and reorganisation post-acquisition of an Australian business.
  • Investigated allegations of harassment, bullying and sex discrimination by senior leadership. The matter was resolved without litigation or media exposure.
  • Represented and successfully settled a high-value, cross border general protections claim in the Federal Court of Australia brought by a former employee, including obtaining successful costs orders in relation to interlocutory matters.
  • Advising an international retailer on the contentious exits of several senior executives in short succession on favourable terms, and without any employment claims.
  • Acted for a global private equity firm on the employment aspects of due diligence and share sale negotiations relating to the successful acquisition of a digital software company.
  • Delivered presentations to clients in the manufacturing, health, telecommunications and banking sectors on matters such as anti-discrimination obligations, the right to disconnect, health and safety, and litigation risk in Australia.
  • Guiding purchasers on employment issues in connection with share acquisitions and asset acquisitions, including modern award compliance and misclassification risks.
  • Represented a renewable energy company to defend a general protections claim in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, successfully resolving the case at mediation.
