About

José Ignacio concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate and venture capital. He advises companies and investors on forming and operating private investment funds, including those backed by The Production Development Corporation (CORFO).

In the Venture Capital area, he advises companies in several financing rounds and stages of business development, including pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, and Series B, in Chile and abroad, in equity rounds or through debt instruments, such as convertible mutual funds or simple agreement for future equity (SAFE) contracts. In addition, he advises companies on the strategy and implementation of compensation plans or employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and the structuring of financing through venture debt instruments.

He also advises companies on expanding and internationalizing their businesses, either through company flips abroad or through domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

In addition, José Ignacio advises clients in the Fintech area, advising companies on multiple regulatory aspects and structuring financial technology businesses in compliance with the applicable regulations.

  • AgendaPro, a Chilean startup that offers a digital platform to manage and optimize appointment-based service businesses, in the negotiation and preparation of a Series B financing round and a secondary share sale lead by Riverwood Capital, a US-based private equity fund
  • Admetricks SpA, a Chilean company specialized in competitive intelligence for online advertising, in the M&A process to sell 100% of the shares owned by the company's shareholders to Similarweb UK Ltd., a subsidiary of the leading data analytics company Similarweb Ltd

  • Andes STR in the structuring and establishment of a private equity investment fund with a real estate focus with WEG Capital, with the aim of investing in properties in Orlando, Florida, through short-term rentals
