• Advising an international political ad-technology company in preparation for Regulation (EU) 2024/900 on the transparency and targeting of political advertising which enters into force in October 2025. To date, this has involved a full compliance gap analysis, advising on regulatory risks and working closely with our client to implement necessary changes to its user-facing platform and publishable information to ensure compliance with robust transparency obligations.
• Advised UNHCR on the DSA, to help strengthen UNHCR’s response to online information risks as part of priority actions identified in UNHCR’s Digital Transformation Strategy 2024-2026. DLA Piper completed a detailed legal analysis as to how the DSA can be used to respond to and prevent illegal and harmful content on digital platforms, including conducting several workshops with the various teams within UNHCR to understand their particular areas of interest and concern.
• Supported Meta’s privacy and regulatory compliance efforts across a broad range of matters, including data breach incident response, amicable resolution of privacy complaints, and engagement with the DPC in connection with ongoing investigations and prospective products.
• Eva was a key member of the team who acted for CDB Aviation dac in their claim against various insurers arising from the leasing of aircraft to various Russian airlines. The proceedings were unprecedented in scale and value and involved a significant volume of court appearances (and the necessary preparation) even before the 95-day trial began.*
