Mitch assists leading Australian and international employers strategically navigate human resources matters that are highly sensitive and business critical.

He works collaboratively with employers across a range of sectors and has particular insight and experience with workforce issues in the energy and resources, retail, technology, and transport and logistics sectors.

Mitch advises on the entire life cycle of employment, assisting employers with human capital matters including termination of employment, major workplace change and reductions in force, transfers of employment and secondments, post-employment restraints, employee benefits and entitlements, collective workforce issues, and employee grievances and disputes. He also assists clients in defending and managing employment claims and has worked on several legally significant industrial relations matters.

Mitch has acted for a number of global employers in relation to their workforce issues in the Asia Pacific region giving him unique insights and valuable experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a major global e-commerce platform on the labor and employment law issues associated with its distribution center operations in Australia.*
  • Advising a global technology company on the labor and employment law issues associated with its operations in Australia. This included advising on various strategic employment and industrial relations issues associated with its operations and the launch of new business units.*
  • Advising various multi-national corporations on sensitive separations of employment and drafting required separation documentation across the Asia Pacific region (including Australia). *
  • Advising on major reductions in force across multiple jurisdictions within the Asia-Pacific region (including Australia). This included setting up the overall approach and strategy on a regional basis, preparing the required restructure documentation and assisting with the closure of business operations.*
  • Advising a leading technology company on the enforceability of restraints of trade and confidentiality obligations across the Asia Pacific region (including Australia).*
  • Advising a major resources company with their employment and health and safety issues. This included advising on strategic industrial relations and employment issues.*
  • Managing, and successfully resolving, various employment litigation matters in the Federal Court of Australia.*
