Sophie T. Sarchet is a litigation associate in the Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions group, though she works on a broad range of litigation matters.

Sophie’s experience includes identifying, researching, and analyzing discrete and complex legal issues, both procedural and substantive.  She has represented and counseled clients in a variety of matters, including in the healthcare, construction, entertainment, and hospitality industries, and on employment and administrative issues.

Sophie maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes representing military veterans seeking discharge upgrades, creating investigative plans to exonerate the wrongfully convicted, and appealing a state court conviction.

Prior Experience

Sophie began her legal career at a renowned boutique appellate firm, where she researched and analyzed novel legal issues, assisted in drafting appellate briefs, post-trial motions, and letters to the court, and cite-checked briefs and motions. She went on to clerk for a federal magistrate judge in the Central District of California and joined DLA Piper upon the clerkship’s completion.  As a law student, she performed extensive research on federal and state regulation of the transportation industry, preemption, and constitutional law.
