Dr. Marcel Schäfgen advises national and international insurers on liability and coverage. His focus is on claims monitoring in the area of Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance. He also advises on other financial lines products, in particular professional indemnity and fidelity insurance.
He represents insurers in complex out-of-court disputes and lawsuits, as well as in the drafting of insurance terms and conditions.
Examples of his client work in recent years include advising D&O insurers in connection with the Diesel- and Wirecard-scandals, as well as advising on the defense against directors’ and officers’ liability claims arising from major corporate insolvencies.
