About
Jason Strojny represents corporations, financial institutions and individuals in high-stakes regulatory and enforcement matters, including investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Justice (DOJ), States Attorneys General (AGs) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Jason has experience managing complex investigations, conducting internal reviews and guiding clients through challenging regulatory landscapes involving the SEC and DOJ, among others. With strategic problem-solving and a client-centered approach, Jason provides practical solutions to mitigate risks and protect clients' reputations. 

Before joining DLA Piper, Jason practiced at a boutique trial firm where he was involved in several high-profile federal jury trials in cases involving conspiracy, securities, wire fraud, federal programs theft and bribery, and tax fraud. He has also successfully represented clients on appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

EXPERIENCE

  • Representation of hedge fund manager in federal jury trial against the SEC, resulting in jury rejecting SEC's most serious allegations 
  • Counsel to public company CEO in arbitration involving allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty 
  • Representation of state trooper in federal criminal jury trial regarding allegations of theft of federal funds 
  • Navigate SEC, DOJ, State AGs or FINRA investigations into potential securities and health care fraud violations 
  • Represented individual on appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, resulting in the Court vacating a $93 million default judgment entered against the client 
  • Obtained summary judgment in federal court in client's favor involving allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, persuading the court that the parties waived fiduciary duties in the LLC agreement
