Wendy Sun specializes in commercial litigation, foreign investment, and competition law. With a unique combination of regulatory expertise and dispute resolution skills, Wendy guides clients through the complexities of the regulatory landscape for investing and operating businesses in Canada. She also provides robust representation in high-stakes cross-border litigation.

Wendy frequently assists investors from China and the Asia-Pacific in navigating the Canadian legal system, from obtaining foreign investment approvals and national security clearances under the Investment Canada Act, to representing clients in complex cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration proceedings. Her linguistic and cultural proficiencies enable her to effectively bridge communication gaps and provide tailored legal advice that aligns with the unique needs and expectations of her international clients. She has successfully represented companies in the automotive, retail, and technology sectors in share purchase agreement disputes, representation and warranty claims, employment matters, and competition-related private actions and class actions. Wendy has appeared before various levels of courts in Ontario, regulatory bodies, and both domestic and international arbitration panels. Additionally, Wendy advises clients on compliance with the Competition Act, particularly concerning marketing and misleading advertisement offenses.

With a keen interest in leveraging legal technology to streamline her practice, Wendy holds an Executive Certificate from the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists and is a member of Women in eDiscovery. She has extensive experience managing large-scale E-Discovery projects spanning multiple jurisdictions as the lead counsel. She is proficient in the use of artificial intelligence and possesses the knowledge and understanding to help businesses overcome legal challenges associated with AI and technology-driven disputes.
