About

Erica Tokar focuses her practice on domestic and international franchising, licensing, and distribution matters. Her experience includes counseling franchisors on regulatory compliance and drafting key franchise documents, including franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, area development agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and other documents to support franchise systems. Erica works with clients in a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, hotel and lodging, and retail. In addition to working with established franchise systems, Erica has worked with franchisors to structure new franchise programs and expand existing franchise programs internationally. Erica also has experience assisting with franchise due diligence reviews and document preparation in connection with franchise-related business transactions.

Pro Bono

From time to time, Erica engages in pro bono immigration legal work, including with asylum-seekers.

Prior Experience

Erica started her legal career as an Attorney Advisor in the Honors Program at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Prior to practicing law, she was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. She also served three terms as an AmeriCorps volunteer.
