DLA Piper advises Abry Partners in its investment in Benefit Recovery Group

DLA Piper represented private equity investment firm Abry Partners in its strategic investment in Benefit Recovery Group (BRG), a leading provider of healthcare subrogation services.

Abry Partners manages over US$5 billion of capital in its active funds and has completed more than US$82 billion in transactions. BRG will collaborate with Abry to accelerate its investment in sales efforts as well as the continued development of new and existing product offerings.

“We were pleased to once again partner with Abry to assist with its investment into BRG,” said Joe Alexander, global co-chair of DLA Piper’s Corporate and Private Equity practice, who led the firm’s deal team. “Our extensive healthcare and insurance private equity experience was an important factor in our handling of this transaction, which will position Abry for continued success.”

In addition to Alexander (Miami), the DLA Piper team representing Abry Partners included partners Dan Rollman (Atlanta) and Jordan Bailowitz (Baltimore).

DLA Piper’s Private Equity practice includes more than 100 US lawyers who provide strategic counsel to private equity funds and the industry-leading companies they invest in. In 2019, Pitchbook recognized DLA Piper as the second most active private equity law firm globally, further solidifying the strength of the firm’s team and its depth of experience executing private equity transactions.

The firm's global Healthcare sector consists of a multidisciplinary legal team with niche experience in health-related business and legal issues. The team regularly works with corporations and financial institutions, private investors, private equity groups, venture capital funds, institutional investors and portfolio companies in all types of healthcare transactions.
