DLA Piper announces the establishment of the Preparedness and Treatment Equity Coalition

DLA Piper is pleased to announce the establishment of the Preparedness and Treatment Coalition (PTEC), which brings together private businesses, health researchers, health care providers, data analysts and advocates with the goal of improving social justice in both pandemic preparedness and the detection and treatment of underlying conditions that make infections more devastating.

Raymond Williams, the PTEC board director, is DLA Piper’s national diversity and inclusion partner. Kirsten Axelsen, senior policy advisor to DLA Piper, is PTEC’s founder and serves as executive secretary. DLA Piper supports the coalition pro bono and is joined by other leading life sciences company sponsors, a full list of which is available on PTEC’s website.

PTEC will sponsor research and identify health system reforms to reduce health disparities, including issues with access to testing and treatment, lower rates of adult vaccinations, and higher rates of conditions such as metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.
