DLA Piper adds Joydeep Dasmunshi as partner in the firm’s Private Equity practice in Chicago

DLA Piper continues to grow its globally recognized Private Equity practice with the addition of Joydeep Dasmunshi as a partner. Dasmunshi’s arrival is part of the firm’s strategy to grow its middle-market Private Equity practice in the region, following the addition of 27 lawyers led by Harris Eisenberg and Alex Plakas in April.

Dasmunshi advises private equity funds and their portfolio companies in complex business transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, recapitalizations, restructurings, executive compensation and incentive equity matters, and capital investments. He has extensive experience leading transactions for middle-market private equity firms across a range of industries, including technology, software, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and business services.

Some of his notable experience includes representing a technology-focused investment firm in its funding in a developer of enterprise asset management products and services for the life sciences industry; a leading provider of cloud-based transportation and asset management solutions in its investment in a large provider of ruggedized mobile technology services and solutions; and a leading provider of SaaS-based fleet management software in its acquisition of a cloud-based, mobile field service management hub.

“Middle-market private equity funds and their portfolio companies remain very active in this market, especially in technology. Joydeep is known for developing strong relationships with his clients and providing an efficient and commercially minded approach which will be an asset to the firm,” said Joseph Silver, global co-chair of DLA Piper’s Private Equity practice. “We look forward to welcoming him to the team.”

With more than 125 US lawyers who provide strategic counsel to private equity funds and their industry-leading portfolio companies, DLA Piper’s Private Equity practice has the capacity, experience and relationships to help drive value across the investment life cycle by delivering responsive, efficient and integrated solutions around the world.
