Beyond the Bench: Turning Climate Risk Disclosure Uncertainty into Strategy

Join DLA Piper, ADEC Innovations, and Legal Sustainability Network for a San Francisco Climate Week program focused on climate disclosures and the shifting regulatory landscape in California and across the United States.
This CLE program will deliver perspectives on regulatory direction and outline the strategic dimensions of climate-related financial risk disclosure. It is intended to equip lawyers, accountants, and compliance professionals with the background needed to navigate the shifting regulatory landscape.
Session topics include:
- California’s climate accountability provisions, including SB253 and SB261
- Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework overview: Exploration of the TCFD’s four pillars – Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, and Metrics and Targets – and how they align with California’s disclosure mandates
- New York’s climate bills, including S9072A, S3697, and S3697A
- Strategic reporting and best practices: Guidance on ways to develop enterprise-wide climate disclosure strategies, integrate cross-functional collaboration, and leverage existing data and frameworks to ensure robust and compliant reporting
